About Me

Hi, I’m Hilary, a CompTIA Network+ certified IT enthusiast from Malaysia and the founder of paralltec.com.

I’ll be honest with you, this blog was partly suggested by an AI. But the reason I kept going is entirely my own.

I’m currently working in customer service, but my heart has always been in technology. This blog is my way of documenting that journey, from where I am now to where I want to be, a career in IT. I like cloud but I also likes networking . Combine them together gets you a cloud Infrastructure.

I wanted to show to potentials recruiter and hiring manager that I have been building and experimenting things on my own.

Everything you’ll find here comes from real hands-on experience in my home server. I write about what I’ve actually tried, what broke, what worked, and what I learned. No fluff, no recycled theory, just my own documentation, served with a little bit of salt and real-world experience.

On paraltec.com you’ll find:

🔧 Home lab experiments and IT tutorials from real practice, from installing Linux on bare machine, installing Linux in a virtual machine to deploying real service like Jellyfin, Pi-Hole, Wireguard, etc.

📚 My learning journey with Windows server, Active Directory, Microsoft 360, and hopefully towards CCNA, MS-102 AZ-104 and beyond.

🏆 Showcasing projects that I have undergone, how I administered a VPS server to deploy this blog and how I tried to harden them to be like a fortress (just kidding, I’m no expert but I tried to follow best practices).

💡 IT news and trends and my honest take on them.

📱 Gadget reviews from someone who actually uses them.

💰 Some affiliate recommendations for tools and gear I genuinely find useful.

I’m not an expert yet. But I’m putting in the work, and documenting every step, everything that I’ve learned.

If you’re also somewhere in the middle of your IT journey, or just love technology like I do, Welcome! Let’s connect and figure this out together.
